The Art of Chat is a mission in Reddish Expressionless Redemption 2.

Mission overview

Arthur attends a truce meeting betwixt Colonel Favours and Rains Autumn, where Rains Autumn hopes to negotiate peace.

Story

While in camp, Arthur comes across Trelawny preparing to go out camp again. Trelawny assures Arthur that he'll be back, but Arthur tells him he should simply leave and not come back, because everything is over. Arthur gives Trelawny his approving to get out, and after thanking Arthur, he leaves. Rains Fall then arrives and tells Arthur of a potential peace treaty. He and then asks Arthur to come with Charles Smith and help keep the peace. With some persuasion by Charles, Arthur agrees to go and the three ride out.

Upon arriving, arroyo a nearby table where the talks are to be held. However, during the discussion, Arthur begins coughing heavily from his avant-garde Tuberculosis, causing Colonel Favours to ask a soldier to accept Arthur to a nearby tent and get him some h2o. While waiting, Arthur overhears a chat between two soldiers, revealing that Colonel Favours plans to put Captain Monroe on trial for treason and hang him. Arthur is and so led back to the table, where talks take broken downwards. Rains Fall gets up to get out, and Monroe is angered past how the meeting was unproductive. Colonel Favours then ordered him to be arrested, accusing him for gross insubordination, disobeying an order, and treason. Still, Arthur and Charles accept a soldier hostage, and make a transfer of the soldier for Monroe. Charles takes Monroe, while Arthur backs up to his horse and lets get of the human as he quickly gets on and rides off.

They try to escape but Monroe's horse is shot out from under him. They apace encounter some nearby trees and Arthur and Charles kill the incoming soldiers to protect Monroe, who refuses to kill whatsoever soldiers himself, due to his allegiance to them. After clearing the area, Monroe mounts Arthur's horse, and Arthur rides with Charles, fending off more pursuing soldiers. They eventually reach Emerald Station, and Arthur apologizes for the loss of Monroe's war machine career, and gives him some money. Monroe boards a train and Charles leaves. Arthur then has a coughing fit and meets either Sister Calderón, who is going to Mexico or Orville Swanson, who is leaving the gang. Both will try to comfort Arthur earlier boarding the train and leaving.

Aureate Medal Objectives

  • Impale a pursuer's horse during the escape.
  • Consummate within 9 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Complete with at least 75% accuracy.
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items.

Mission failure

The mission will fail if the actor:

  • Assaults, kills, or abandons Charles, Rains Fall, or Captain Monroe;
  • Allows Charles or Captain Monroe to dice;
  • Disrupts the meeting;
  • Kills Col. Favours;
  • Kills or abandons their horse;
  • Dies.

Deaths

  • Numerous U.S. Army soldiers - Killed by Arthur Morgan and Charles Smith during the escape.
  • Jackson (optional) - Tin be killed by Arthur subsequently his release.

Trivia

  • At the end of this mission, Arthur interacts with either Orville Swanson or Sister Calderón depending on if "Of Men and Angels" has been completed or not. If this mission is replayed in the PC version regardless of whether or not the Strangers mission was completed, Swanson volition announced at the end by default.
    • Too, if Arthur completed "Of Men and Angels", and so during the conversation with Sister Calderón, when he asks what he should do, she advises him with, "Be grateful that for the first time, you run into your life clearly", a line he remembers during his last ride in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission if his Honor is high.
  • If the histrion completed "Favored Sons" just before this mission, on the ride to the meeting, Charles will express anger at Dutch getting involved in the conflict between the United states Ground forces and the Wapiti Tribe, and getting Eagle Flies arrested, with Rains Fall calculation that it won't help the Tribe's instance.
  • In one case this mission is completed, Reverend Swanson and Josiah Trelawny will no longer be at military camp.
  • It is possible to kill Favours during the standoff, but it will result in a mission failure.
  • Despite the vocal's title being named after the mission itself, and included in The Music of Ruby-red Dead Redemption ii: Original Score, nowhere in the mission does the vocal itself play, but but in Roanoke Ridge outside of the mission.
  • This i of the few missions in the game where the player will not incur an honor loss for killing horses, the other ones being "Advertising, The New American Art", "Urban Pleasures" and "Our Best Selves".
