So, in the US, Conservative politicians ordinarily embrace what they phone call " family values" i.e. anti abortion, anti LGBT rights etc. The song brings attention to the fact that they say they're for "family unit values" while supporting war, military machine expansion and intervention.

I had my older blood brother/family members explain it much the same as what is existence posted and I do agree that is probably the meaning. Though I always imagined information technology every bit- the notion to protect your proverbial family, whether information technology is friends, families or coworkers, to stand together whenever information technology may be, that peace is seen as the person with his weapons holstered in his pockets taking a stand with fellow beings but when your confronted you accept a weapon with unlimited bullets to defend against the oppressor.
